Privacy policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

This policy explains how KittySocks handles personal information when you visit kittysocks.com, personalize a product, use an account or contact us. For privacy questions, email help@kittysocks.com.

Information you provide

We receive the information you enter, such as contact details, account information, delivery details, product choices, uploaded pet photos, optional names, design notes and customer-service messages. When ordering is available, order and transaction records are also used to process purchases and provide support.

Please only upload images you have the right to use. Avoid including unrelated people or sensitive personal information in photos and design notes. We do not need full payment-card details in a photo upload or support message.

How we use information

We use information to provide the website and personalization features, keep selected items in your bag, prepare custom designs, fulfil orders when available, respond to enquiries, maintain accounts and protect the service from misuse. Transaction records may also be needed for accounting, dispute resolution or legal obligations.

Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on steps needed to provide a requested service or perform a contract, legal obligations, legitimate interests such as site security and customer support, or consent where required. You can withdraw consent without affecting processing already carried out lawfully.

Your uploaded photos

Customer photo originals are stored in a private location outside the website’s public media library. They are not added to public product galleries. Photo and preview requests are checked for authorized access, such as the associated shopping session, eligible order access or authorized store staff.

The website’s current photo-retention period is 60 days from upload. Expired photos become unavailable for checkout and preview; scheduled cleanup removes expired originals and their preview files. If a photo in your bag expires before ordering, you must upload a replacement before continuing.

The photo rule is separate from the retention of order, accounting and support records, which may need to be kept longer. Service-provider backup cycles may also differ from live-site cleanup. Contact us if you have a question or a deletion request concerning a particular upload.

Uploading a photo for a custom product does not give us permission to use it in public advertising or customer galleries. Any such use requires separate permission.

Cookies and technical information

The site uses WordPress and WooCommerce. Necessary cookies and similar storage help maintain shopping sessions, remember bag contents, support sign-in and protect forms. Hosting and security systems may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, request times and error logs.

You can manage cookies through your browser. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent the bag, sign-in or checkout from working correctly. If optional analytics or advertising tools are enabled, any required choices and additional information must be provided before their use.

Google Analytics

With your analytics consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits and shopping activity, such as product views, additions to the bag, checkout starts and purchases. Statistics can include device and browser information, the pages you visit, approximate location and product or transaction identifiers. We do not use the personalization photo, optional pet name or design note as analytics event data.

Google processes analytics information under its own policies. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Display-advertising support is disabled in our WooCommerce Analytics integration.

Your cookie choices

Use the cookie banner to accept or refuse optional statistics. Necessary shopping and security functions remain available if you decline. You can reopen your choices through the consent-preferences control provided on the site, or remove stored choices in your browser. Changing a choice affects future collection and does not automatically delete information already collected.

WooCommerce uses session and bag cookies; WordPress uses sign-in cookies when you log in. If statistics are permitted, Google Analytics can use cookies such as _ga and _ga_<identifier> to distinguish visits. The consent tool also stores your choice so it does not ask on every page. Cookie duration varies by purpose, configuration and browser; you can inspect and clear the cookies saved on your device at any time.

Service providers and disclosure

We share information as needed with providers supporting hosting, security, customer support, custom-product preparation and fulfilment. When ordering is enabled, payment and delivery providers receive information needed for their part of the transaction. Payment handling is subject to the provider’s own privacy and security practices.

We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights and prevent fraud. Service providers may process information in countries different from your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards must be used for international transfers.

Retention and security

We retain information for the purpose for which it was collected and for applicable legal, accounting or dispute-handling needs. We use access controls and other reasonable measures to protect it. No online service can promise absolute security, so keep your account details private and tell us about suspected unauthorized access.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent. Email us with your request. We may need to verify your identity without collecting more information than necessary.

You can unsubscribe from any marketing messages using the supplied unsubscribe option. Essential order or service messages may still be sent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children and third-party links

The store is intended for adult shoppers. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. If a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and address it. Other websites linked from this site have their own privacy policies.

Updates

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the store or applicable requirements. The date above identifies the latest version. We will provide additional notice where required.
